This Simple Device Saved My Sanity With Cyber Schooling

Welcome to episode 127 of The Determined Mom Show. I am your host, Amanda Tento. In this episode,  I wanted to share with you this little tiny thing that I bought off Amazon that has changed my work life and my home life.

Due to covid, we decided to keep our kids home and cyber school them until they can be vaccinated. They did concurrent learning, where they zoom into their main classes during the day, while those classes are happening at their school physically. So they’re able to see their teacher, they’re able to get to know their teacher. They’re able to ask questions, all of those things but it’s still the same teacher.

So one day I got a message from my daughter’s teacher, asking to make sure she gets online on time but I was in a meeting and I couldn’t get off and I apologized. So I’m thinking like how in the world can I keep all of this in check? 

I found a device on Amazon and it is a kitchen timer that has 10 different alarms. So you can set 10 different alarms throughout the day. So I created a bell schedule and it’s like a little spreadsheet that has everybody’s bell schedule.

It has changed everything because now when a certain alarm goes off it tells them both to log into a different class. So I have this set for lunch. I have it set for absolutely everything we all need to keep track of, so that way, if I am in a meeting or if I cannot, for some reason get to them, then it is 100% set. 

It is a lifesaver. So if you are out there and you are struggling with time or anything meeting related, this alarm is amazing and it’s very small. You can hang it on the wall, or you can set it on something but it has saved my sanity.
