Do You Need a Digital Marketing Check-Up? You May Be Missing Huge Opportunities

Welcome to episode 155 of The Determined Mom Show. I am your host, Amanda Tento. In this episode, I want to talk today about if you need a digital marketing checkup. There are so many websites and social media that I look at daily and just absolutely every part of your marketing profile. I check on the kind of work that it needs such as checking for missing links so that you’re not missing out on huge opportunities.

So if you don’t have everything connected, that is a huge miss. If you have broken links on your website, that is a huge miss. If you have an outdated website, that is a huge miss. If you have things on your website that are no longer relevant to your business, that is a huge miss. 

I was just reading some Google reviews of a salon that I was going to go to and everybody was kind of mad because they still had massage therapy listed on their website but they no longer offer it. So they haven’t updated their website. They’re getting bad Google reviews about this but yet it’s something so simple that they could easily resolve and they still leave it there. So, very interesting and I want to encourage you, as we are at the beginning of 2022, so you need to give yourself a digital marketing checkup.

If that’s not something that you can feel comfortable doing, then we can help you with that but that’s not why I’m talking about it right now.

Do You Need a Digital Marketing Check-Up You May Be Missing Huge Opportunities

I’m talking about it because I want you to kind of get in the habit of maybe monthly checkups of at least going through and maybe even have your receptionist or a friend or a family member, anyone that has a little bit of extra time, a parent have them go through and just make sure everything that you offer is working that’s number one.

Then number two is to make sure that you’re taking advantage of all of the things that your ideal customer is on. TikTok is one of those things that’s been around for a long time. However, it’s very new to businesses and it is very lucrative for businesses because you can gain a lot of attention. You can gain a lot of followers. So you must be debating whether or not these things are good for your business or if your audience is even there. LinkedIn is like a whole nother animal. If you are a B2B, you need to be on LinkedIn and Instagram.

So you really should be evaluating all of these platforms, figuring out which ones you really should focus on, and just spend time learning about them or hiring someone that is versed in those platforms. Email marketing is another one. If you’re not collecting, you know, your customers’ emails and emailing them, you are missing out on so much.

So I would say that a complete digital marketing checkup should start with your website and then branch out from there because you should have a lead magnet. You should have an email list and people should be able to sign up for it. If you have products, you should be able to have those products listed there. 

Everything needs to be as easy as possible and also optimized. I have had law firms that I’ve evaluated their website and they have like full-time digital marketing directors and they have like a link on their website. That’s not a clickable phone number. as in, somebody can’t click it from their phone and just call like that is a huge miss.

So all of these little tiny details, however small they may be, are critical to the success of your business. There are some things that you may miss. You may not realize the value of it but it could be costing you thousands of dollars a month in lost potential revenue.
